The EK1300 EtherCAT P coupler integrates the EtherCAT terminal module into the EtherCAT P network. The coupler converts the transfer message from Ethernet 100BASE-TX into an E-bus signal. The EK1300 is equipped with two P-coded M8 interfaces. The EtherCAT P interface above is used to connect couplers into the network, and the EtherCAT P-encoded M8 interface below can be used to extend the EtherCAT P topology. In addition, the EK1322 EtherCAT P topology extension module and the EK1310 EtherCAT P topology extension module can also be used to extend or create line or star topologies.

Because EtherCAT P integrates power and communication in a single cable, additional power to the coupler is no longer required through the terminal module contact. Depending on the application, the system and sensor power supply US or the peripheral voltage UP of the actuator can be bridged with the power supply contacts.
